Production Manager

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager, who likes to work in a hands on role.  If you enjoy a busy environment, and have great operational and maintenance skills get in contact!

You would be responsible for the day to day running, growth and profitability of our manufacturing operation, reporting only to our CEO. It would be your job to ensure our premium milk, cream, yoghurt, cheese and ice-cream products are produced on time and in full. Your experience in People & Plant Management, Maintenance, Production Scheduling and Manufacturing processes will enable you to ensure the profitable and efficient day to day running of our plant, coordinating the best fit between milk supply and market demand.

Your role would include reviewing input costs, process flows, schedules, and machinery upkeep to ensure manufacturing KPI’s are met and consistent reliable supply is maintained.

Do you like tinkering with machinery?

We’re after someone who can ensure the smooth day to day running of our plant and machinery. There is always something happening in our production facility, so you’ll need to be able to work between tight production schedules.  Excellent trouble shooting skills and out of the box solutions and repairs will be needed to ensure our products are produced and the day keeps running to schedule.

You will be responsible for the full preventative maintenance schedules of the site, maintaining spare parts, general site safety, cleanliness and functionality as well as assisting with new equipment installation. You will require a basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and electric machinery; be solution orientated and ideally live in the local district close to site. Computer literacy to maintain site registers, organising freight and spares and searching for parts is also important.

A mechanical or electrical trade or other tickets would be well regarded.

Are you really organised?

This role is responsible for maintaining inventory on site of raw materials and packaging to ensure (Just in time) stock management, taking into account order leads times and our regional location. If you have good data entry skills, are details orientated, well organised and pro-active in identifying cost savings and ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained, get in contact. You will have excellent relationship development skills to ensure the best price and MOQs and service from our suppliers. Strong computer literacy across Excel, Office and ERP Inventory Management systems will be required.  You will need to work well in a busy manufacturing environment.

This role would be approx. 25-30 hours a week and a willingness to help out in other areas of production would be well regarded and enable additional hours to be provided.

Do you work well in a team?

We are looking for several production team members, who can handle early starts and want to help make our delicious products. You’ll be manually handling crates and materials (20kg) so you will need to be fairly fit.  If you can maintain a high standard of food production, workplace hygiene and can accurately follow systems and procedures, we want to hear from you.

You will need to live locally as we start at 5.30/6am weekdays. Min 30+ hrs/wk.  A HR and/or forklift licence although not essential, will be well-regarded. This is a long term role with opportunities to advance and grow with the business.
