Biodynamics
Biodynamic practices and preparations breathe life, energy and strength into the land, which in turn produces food that is rich in nutrients. Like Organic farmers, we use no artificial fertilisers, pesticides, antibiotics or growth hormones. Biodynamics however takes organic farming a step further. It focuses on the farm as a living ecosystem which is self contained, self-sustaining and follows the cycles of nature.
Our farms are more than just cows and pasture; we have planted rainforest and created wetlands to cultivate a living farm organism. Biodynamic farming is a holistic view of agriculture with high awareness of the interconnectivity between earth, plants, animals, humans, the moon and planets.
Preparations
We focus on actively regenerating the soil using specially fermented biodynamic herbal preparations made from manure, plants and minerals. These preparations stimulate the life processes on the farm and act like homeopathic remedies for the microbial, plant and animal life found here. You only need to apply the preparations to the soil in very small doses – a tiny handful of biodynamic manure will fertilise an acre of paddock!
Demeter
Biodynamics is a fully certified method of farming and can be found across the world in gardens, vineyards and farms alike.
We have been certified by Australian Demeter Biodynamic.
The Bio-Dynamic Research Institute has been accredited by the Commonwealth Government (DAFF Biosecurity) Organic Program, as a recognised Approved Certifying Organisation.
DEMETER Bio-Dynamic certification is also recognised by Australia’s Humane Society International as meeting their ethical livestock needs, and is listed by them as a recognised certification organisation.
